Grid EA Installation Guide

Complete setup instructions for VPS trading.

Requirements

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • ✅ Windows VPS (recommended: 2GB RAM minimum)
  • ✅ Active Discord subscription (Forex or Forex+)
  • ✅ RaiseFX trading account (demo or live)
  • ✅ Stable internet connection on your VPS
Download MetaTrader 5
  • On your personal computer, open a web browser
  • Go to the RaiseFX download page: https://live.raisefx.com/download
  • Click Download MT5 to get the installer
  • Transfer the file raiseglobal5setup.exe to your VPS (Use Remote Desktop copy/paste or cloud storage)
⚠️ Security Note

For security, never login to your broker website directly from the VPS. If you do, remember to log out when finished.

Install MetaTrader 5
  • On your VPS, run raiseglobal5setup.exe
  • Click Next and accept the license agreement
  • Choose installation folder (default is fine)
  • Click Install and wait for completion
  • Click Finish to launch MT5
Login to Your Account
  • When MT5 opens, you'll see the login window
  • Enter your Account Number (e.g., 12353421)
  • Enter your Password
  • Server should be auto-selected (RaiseGlobal-Live)
  • Click Login
ℹ️ Recommended: Change Your MT5 Password

I recommend changing your MT5 password for security. To do this:

  1. Go to your RaiseFX dashboard
  2. Click on your MT5 account
  3. Go to Settings → Security
  4. Change your password from there
Activate Your License

Before installing the EA, you need to activate your license on Discord:

  • Open Discord and go to the Filtred server
  • Navigate to the #cmd channel
  • Use the activation command:
Discord 
/activate ea:Grid account:YOUR_ACCOUNT_NUMBER

Example:

/activate ea:Grid account:12321312
  • You should see a confirmation message
ℹ️ Tip

Use /status anytime to check your license status

Install the EA
  • Download the Filtred_EA.ex5 file from the #update channel
  • In MT5, go to File → Open Data Folder
  • Navigate to MQL5 → Experts
  • Copy the Filtred_EA.ex5 file into this folder
  • Restart MT5 or right-click Navigator → Refresh
Allow License Server URL
⚠️ IMPORTANT

This step is required for the EA to work!

  • In MT5, go to Tools → Options
  • Click the Expert Advisors tab
  • Check ✅ Allow WebRequest for listed URL
  • Click the + button and add:

  • Click OK to save
Download Configuration (Optional)
ℹ️ Default Configuration

The under5k+++V2 configuration is the default built into the EA. If you want to use this set, you don't need to download or load anything — it's already applied when you attach the EA.

If you want to use a different configuration:

  • On Discord, go to the #config channel
  • Download one of the preset configuration files (.set file)
  • Save it to your computer (remember the location)

See Configurations page for details about each preset.

Attach EA to Chart
  • Open a chart (XAUUSD/Gold, M1 timeframe)
  • In Navigator, expand Expert Advisors
  • Find Filtred_EA
  • Drag and drop it onto your chart
  • In the popup, go to Common tab:
    • ✅ Check Allow Algo Trading
    • ✅ Check Allow DLL imports
  • Go to Inputs tab
  • (Optional) Click Load button if you want to use a custom .set config file
  • Click OK
Enable Algo Trading
  • Click the Algo Trading button in the toolbar
  • It should turn green when enabled
  • The EA icon on your chart should show a smiley face 😊
✅ Success

You're all set! The EA is now running and will trade automatically.

Quick Setup Checklist

  • Downloaded MT5 from RaiseFX (on your PC)
  • Transferred installer to VPS
  • Installed MT5 on VPS
  • Logged into trading account
  • Activated license on Discord (/activate)
  • Copied Filtred_EA.ex5 to MQL5/Experts folder
  • Added URL to allowed list in MT5 options
  • Downloaded config file from #config channel
  • Attached EA to chart and loaded config
  • Enabled Algo Trading (green button)
